One of our favorite things about this old Victorian home is how different each room feels as the sunlight moves through it during the day.

Here in the formal parlor, with the lace curtains glowing and the shutters open, it becomes a peaceful spot to sit with coffee before breakfast.

Moments like these are why we love hosting at Trimmer House Bed & Breakfast. ❤️

This pressed-back oak glider rocker was made using an 1888 patent for the “Lowentraut” style glider mechanism, invented by George F. Hall. Unlike traditional rocking chairs that can tilt and creep backward across the floor, Hall’s innovative design allowed the chair to glide smoothly while remaining stationary which was a remarkable idea for its time.

Its carved details were created by hand long before mass production and assembly lines became the norm. The scrollwork, spindles, and carved panels weren’t meant to be temporary furnishings. They were crafted to last for generations.

More than a century later, it still glides here at Trimmer House in the Keuka Room, as a small piece of living history our guests can sit in, enjoy, and become part of for a little while. ❤️

Today we enjoyed a delicious Bourbon Cream French Toast Bake.

Made with Bourbon Cream from the wonderful Barrelhouse 6 Distillery here in the Finger Lakes.

Technically it’s part of breakfast. Emotionally, it feels a little like dessert with questionable decision-making. 🥃

A tiny taste of sunshine for today’s amuse-bouche. A silky lemon posset, served right in the shell, with a blueberry and mint for a fresh little wink of flavor 🍋

Claw-foot tubs are wonderfully classic, but sit a bit higher than today’s more modern tubs.

We’ve installed Victorian-style grab bars and small step stools to enhance ease of use while staying true to the historic character of the house.

While winter keeps the world outside quiet and cold, fresh flowers inside bring warmth, cheer, and a sense of welcome.

The 2025 guest season officially ended November 17, and we’re so grateful for every guest who chose to stay with us.

It’s always such fun meeting new friends, sharing stories over breakfast, and reminding ourselves of the many benefits of running a traditional B&B. ❤️

Now, it’s the off-season, and it’s ladders up!

Here, Vic’s tidying up the Trimmer House exterior keeping it beautiful for when we open again in May 2026.

Upon arrival, one is greeted not only by polished wood and fresh blooms (thanks to Sunscape Farms), but also by Lavender & Lemon Shortbread which are dainty little morsels of calm and sunshine.
