Tap the Coast is proud to support incredible charities throughout our community but this one is personal ❤️
In 2010, my daughter Shaylee was born at just 23 weeks and 4 days, weighing only 1 lb. 2 oz. She spent her first 120 days in the NICU receiving life-saving care.
I knew of Ronald McDonald House Charities, but I never imagined my family would need them.
For four months, Room 7 became our home away from home.Instead of being 30 minutes from my daughter, we were just minutes from the hospital. And when your baby is fighting for her life, those minutes matter.
But the Ronald McDonald House gave us more than a room. It gave us a place to rest, meals when we were too exhausted to think about dinner, volunteers who showed up every day, and a community of families who understood.
It was a house filled with love and 16 years later, I haven't forgotten it.
Today, that tiny 1 lb. 2 oz. baby is thriving and has just started her junior year at Milton High School❤️
That's why being part of Wine and Fries on August 28 at The Alice in Destin, benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities, means so much to me🍷🍟
If you've ever wondered what your support actually does for a family, I can tell you: it gives them a room, a meal, a place to rest, a community and the ability to stay close when being close matters most.
Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are still available, and we'd love to have you join us!
From one former Room 7 mom, thank you to everyone who has donated, volunteered, cooked a meal, attended a fundraiser, or supported Ronald McDonald House Charities.
You may never meet the families you help, but I promise, they remember you❤️
