DEALS DEALS DEALS! There has never been a better time to live a little at our 12 person big dog villa! We changed management which means, our calendar is wide open, our rates are significantly reduced just to fill the seats and get some great reviews. We’re refreshing and upgrading to get some knock out photos and claim the honor of being the nicest and best value beach vacation available.

While our prior company was good we noticed that as times get tough they started giving less, cutting back. Our philosophy is give more, be better, over deliver and be more competitive, not cut corners. Come and enjoy beautiful fall weather for golf or beach clubbing or just enjoying sunny days on the deck and patio watching deer, bald eagles and of course Herons Crossing.

Tarkiln Bayou Preserve State Park protects one of the Gulf Coast’s rare wetland habitats, giving visitors a quiet place to explore water and wildlife.

A boardwalk trail leads across pitcher plant bogs toward the bayou, where calm, shallow water meets open marsh. It’s a good spot for nature watching, with fish, wading birds and crabs often seen near the shoreline.

Herons Crossing is moving to a new management company. You can find us now at both Beach Getaways for reservations before October 19, 2026 and at Itrip Vacations for any dates after that. Our goal is perfect reviews from perfect guest experiences. We know vacations are precious, perhaps now more than ever when times are a little tough so we want to compete by being the best place you ever stayed. We love it in Lost Key and hope you will as well.

Stay tuned folks, new management is coming. In the interim, feel free to reach out via email here and we will set your dates aside. This is the unit as of summer 2026 but we always come in fall and refresh, renew and add to amenities.

My husband and I walk the beach late in the day and knock down sand castles. I feel like a jerk when we do it! When we were younger we built them and hoped like heck they would be there the next day. But I didn’t know we were creating obstacles for nesting sea turtles! Now that I do, I find myself explaining to the little boy who watched from his balcony why we destroyed his creation. Fortunately, he and his Mom understood once we explained and hopefully will follow suit. The castles are neat but hey, the turtles are awesome and need our help.

Nesting season is HERE! Florida is home to the majority of the United States' sea turtle nests! Now through October, help us protect our nesting turtles and their hatchlings by doing the following:

⚠️ Keep a safe and respectful distance of turtles, nests, and hatchlings, of at least 50 feet

🏖️ Keep the beach flat! Fill in holes and knock down sand castles to help turtles find their way back to the water

🔦 Avoid using white light on the beach, and instead opt for a red light flashlight. You can pick one up for free at the Visit Destin-Fort Walton Beach Visitor's Center!

🚮 Pick up trash and avoid single-use plastics

Want a private beach club with great food and drinks and a dipping pool and fireworks? There’s only one place you can get it all in Perdido Key! Lost Key- and I am certainly biased but the best way to enjoy it is to rent our 4 Bedroom 4 bath Villa.

White sand beach, beach club private restaurant and bar golf club with restaurant and bar resort pool with impressive fitness center, walking trails and free shuttle throughout! Big dogs welcome, 4 bedrooms and 4 full baths, what more could you need?
