Splash ‘N’ Soak Station, a circus-themed water play zone, with my 18-month-old grandson Caleb in my arms. Eyes wide, he is as excited as one can get. “Hurry Papa, hurry,” he says. I peek back over my shoulder to see my son, daughter-in-law and wife (known to Caleb as Nana) sitting on a bench laughing. They know what’s in store for me and they are loving it. As we dodge past spraying water from th
e monkeys and elephants, I put Caleb down and he promptly runs to a spot where he’s immediately sprayed with water. “This way, Papa!”, he squeals with delight and moves to the next water stream. 20 minutes later, Caleb back in my arms, both of us sopping wet, we go back to find mom, dad and Nana laughing hysterically on the bench. It does not matter that we are soaking wet because Caleb and I had just made our first magic memory! This is what vacations are to me, an opportunity to make a lifetime of memories.
