What was once before a random assemblage of herbs and flowers is now a bountiful eco-friendly garden full of squash, peppers, eggplant, tomatoes, collards, kale, other greens, lettuce, beans, peas, strawberries, onions, celery, cucumbers, tomatillos, carrots, beets, radish, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, and MORE!
We are also equipped with Rob's Herb and Rock Garden, a brand new Vermicomposting box complete with lots of worms, and a full 100 square feet dedicated to bulbs and other fun flowers!
The greenhouse design was free, and found online. Total, the cost was only around $100, and Mauricio and Rene had it up in a week. There, in March, I started hundreds of different seedlings, and we all watched them grow.
We just recently released a swarm of beneficial bugs to protect us from destructive bugs. So come see if you can find our lady bugs and praying mantis! Or join the midnight snail crunch.
After a long day of planting, Rob, and I and our friend Sean stayed up until 2AM (!) to hand paint signs for each plant. We would like to continuously add sculpture and other art pieces to the garden, so if you have ideas, let us know.
Everyone is welcome!
A big thanks to Rob, Mauricio, Rene, all the ladies for braving the snake and collecting herbs for dinner any way, Sean Williams, Geroge III, and our local gardeners for support!
Granddady george even thought it was necessary to adopt two lovely blue heelers to protect the garden from deer and rabbits at night.
