A man's wallet was found at the creek today and turned into me at the camper. It does not have an ID but there is a small amount of cash and a couple of personal items in the wallet. Please call me at home to claim. 573-223-7221.

The wallet has been identified and arrangements made for it to be picked up next weekend.

UPDATE on this weekend's campground event:

Several people have stated that it's too early in the month for trick or treating. The reason we planned the event earlier was that a lot of people said they preferred not having it the same weekend as the Heritage Festival in town.

With that in mind, we can plan on having the pot luck and hayride as planned on October 3rd and campers can organize trick or treating during the weekend of the Heritage Festival.

The schedule for October 3rd:

Campers drop off their dishes beginning at 5:30 with dinner from 6:00 - 7:00.

Door prizes will be given out as well as a few announcements from 7:00 - 7:30 followed by the hayride beginning at 7:30. Registering for the door prizes will be done a little differently for this event. Each campsite will be entered into the drawing instead of individuals. If a site has multiple campers, they will have more than one entry. Our goal was to prevent multiple people winning from the same family. Winners must be present when the site numbers are drawn.

The campground will be providing water, paper products and utensils.

Trick or treating will take place on Saturday, October 17th beginning at 4:30 and run until 6:00.

We will have a table set up where the events are held with a treat bag to get the kids started on their trick or treating. Those can be picked up beginning at 4:00 and given out until 5:00.

Please let us know in the comments section two things: The number of kids attending the trick or treating on the 17th and what you plan on bringing to the pot luck on the 3rd.

I apologize for the confusion about not knowing the details but I attempted to post the schedule for the 3rd shortly after Labor Day weekend but apparently, it was not a successful attempt.

As always... these are private campground events for our campers and their invited guests ONLY. We are not affiliated with the Corps of Engineers campground at Clearwater Lake.

We are at that time of year again where the marina goes to weekends only. Our hours on Saturdays for the next couple of weekends will be 9 - 6 and Sundays from 9 - 2. Sunday hours will extend to 6 on days where we have boat rentals.

Our last day open will be Sunday, September 27th.

If tabs have not been settled, please reach out to us over the next couple of weekends. If I am hunting down tab payments at the end of the season, there won't be tabs next year for some stall renters.

Monday, September 14th

If you are currently at camp, you may see an employee from the County Assessor's office who will be working with John on the new Real Estate assessments. They are looking at decks, carports, concrete pads, sheds, etc..

It's supposed to begin early this morning and just wanted to give everyone a heads up if they see us walking around camp.

We are planning our Fall campground event and many of you have requested to not have it scheduled the same day as the Heritage Festival in late October. We have settled on Saturday, October 3rd.

It's going to be a simple POT LUCK and hayride.

We will organize the trick or treating for the kids but wont be having a costume contest this year.

This is more of a SAVE THE DATE post as we are working out the details and will share them once we wrap up Labor Day weekend.

We realize that many of you have plans for the Fall season so this will be one of those events that we won't be able to reschedule due to weather or lack of interest/participation.

All we know for sure right now is that it will be an event starting in the late afternoon and wrapping up with an evening hayride.

We were informed by the water department that the water will be shut off on Monday, August 17th from 7:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.. They are also issuing a water boil order when it comes back on through Thursday, August 20th.

Plan ahead if you will be at camp during that time.

Jason is doing some gravel work on one of the sites. There will be a pile of gravel in the road around site #15. Work should be completed sometime in the morning. Just giving those down a heads up to drive around the pile for the time being.

A few people have reached out asking about the river levels at camp. The Black River has come down about 3 feet over the past few days but remains about 2 feet over where we would normally see in late July.

The lake is just about back at Summer Pool and nearly back to normal with it's clarity.

Next week, the Conservation Department is going to be working along the Black River below the dam. You make see a government vehicle or two at camp. They have been granted permission to access the river through the campground.

They will be working with the Corps office to control the spillway during their studies next week. Expect the river level to drop while the work is being done. This may last up to a week and should begin sometime Monday or Tuesday.
