Springtime at Bearfoot by the River

Can you spot all the animals?!?

One Gracie Bird, my dog, hunting a dragonfly

I love hearing the birds chirping, the river flowing, and the little squirrels 🐿️ climbing the trees.

So peaceful yet exciting to see all the nature!

A sweet, short little run in the Sevierville Greenway is a perfect way to start the morning at Bearfoot by the River.

It's only a 10 min drive from the condo and I live seeing the morning foggy mountains in the distance.

Air hockey = pure childhood magic ✨
Kids AND adults can't resist this table! It was my favorite game growing up, and now watching families create the same memories just hits different. 🏒
Last visit: played with my 4-year-old nephew who absolutely LOVED it! Those moments when you realize you're watching the next generation discover the same joy you felt? That's the real magic. 💫

When life gives you "no parking," you find adventures in the detours! ✨
Ok so this day was supposed to be about hiking trails in the Smoky Mountains, but my parking karma must have been off! 😅 So unlike my typical parking karma superpower... It led to the prettiest, unexpected adventure.
The Roaring Fork Motor Trail became our playground instead! 🌿
And can we talk about this yellow butterfly that basically followed my sister and me for the ENTIRE weekend? Following us everywhere like the sweetest little guide... I think it was Mom sending us love from above. 💛🦋
Meet the star of Ely's Mill - this grumpy cat who's mastered the art of "look but don't touch" hospitality. Honestly, his confidence is everything! 😸
The cold mountain water on our feet was pure joy - those moments when you realize the "failed" plan was actually perfect all along.
Sometimes the universe knows exactly what adventure you need, even when it's not the one you planned!

Weekend away at Bearfoot by the River with my sister, brother-in-law and my cutest nephew!

Sometimes the best memories are made when you're just going with the flow... like a river! 🏞️

Friday: Cookout by the river (because nothing says bonding like itchy bug bites... don't forget your big spray)
Saturday: Roaring Fork Motor Trail through the Smokies, splashing in rivers, exploring historic buildings, and grabbing fresh banana nut bread at Ely's Mill. Had lunch at Margaritaville - apparently we needed the salt from the margarita to rehydrate from the hike!
Evening: Smoky Mountains Hot Air Balloon Festival with wine tasting. Talk about fun! 🎈🍷 🌮

Sunday: Hiked to Grotto Falls (2.6 miles round trip). Walking behind a waterfall? That's what I call a behind-the-scenes experience! Pro tip: Go early for parking or you'll fall behind... the waterfall.

These moments remind me that the best adventures happen when we step away from our screens and into nature's embrace. Sometimes you need to disconnect to truly reconnect.

Family time: priceless. Dad jokes included: free of charge!

is one of my favorite spots to create fun memories with my nephew and family. Next time you're visiting, it's a must see and explore regardless of age!

My recommendation is to go in the afternoon to stay for the sunset over the Great Smoky Mountains and then see the night time lights if the little ones can hang for that long!

Pro tip: find and sit in a rocking chair over looking the mountains in time for the sunset. Grab a drink and a snack to enjoy like the funnel cake fries from the cute little camper.

Once you finish the day, you can end it with a fun air hockey game at Bearfoot by the River. Adults and the kiddos LOVE IT!
