Today, we temporarily close our doors as we begin an exciting new chapter.

In 1976, Best Italian opened with one simple goal: to serve scratch‑made Italian food that feels like home. Nearly 50 years later, we’re taking this time to honor that history with a thoughtful remodel designed for the next 50 years.

Over the coming months, we’ll be upgrading our kitchen with state‑of‑the‑art equipment, refreshing our dining space, and giving the brand a facelift — all while keeping the things that matter most exactly the same. The recipes aren’t changing. Everything will still be made from scratch and baked in house. And most importantly, Best Italian will still feel like home.

We’re planning to reopen May 2026, and we can’t wait to welcome you back.

Until then, we’d love to serve you at our family restaurants here in Gatlinburg: Howard's Restaurant, Best Italian Express, The Coffee Syndicate, and Alibi Speakeasy.

🚨 Update on the Parking Structure Incident — Confirmed by Vehicle Owner Elizabeth Kelly

New details have been confirmed by Elizabeth Kelly, the owner of one of the vehicles involved in today’s parking structure accident.

According to Kelly, an elderly man suffered a medical emergency and accidentally reversed into her Suburban, knocking it off the structure. His own vehicle also went off but landed on all four tires.

Kelly shared that she received the call while returning from Dollywood, describing it as “a nightmare to come back to.” Despite the shock of the situation, she expressed deep gratitude that no one was walking or driving by at the time, and that no serious injuries occurred.

Emergency personnel and Everything Auto Towing & Repair were quick to respond, securing the scene and safely removing both vehicles.

Authorities are continuing to review the incident, but all involved are safe.
