On July 22nd through July 29th, I will be heading to Monterrey, Mexico with Abba Missions (AM) for the second time. We will be returning to the villages where AM established clean water tanks and filtration systems a few years ago to bring groceries and to deliver a message of hope. We will also be returning to Casa de Amor, an orphanage that houses about 40 children to engage with them through VBS. Additionally, we will be connecting through crafts and activities with the children from an orphanage-rescue mission that has become home to several children rescued from human trafficking.
In one of the villages, I hope to connect again with the 7-year old girl named Reina who sings and was born with a birth defect. I know Yahweh is so multi-faceted in His plans and purposes, but if Reina had been the only reason He sent me to Mexico last summer, it was worth all of the effort and resources invested for the entire trip when I heard her mother’s words after we prayed together: “I have been praying for the Lord to send someone to encourage my daughter as she has been struggling emotionally from the teasing and ridicule from the other children.” The Lord had me to pray with her and encourage her with my own story of how Yahweh set me apart from a young age as the teasing and ridicule from others due to the birth defect in my feet and being over-weight would drive me to the refuge of my Heavenly Father.
I will be doing a couple fundraisers over the next two weeks to raise the last $500 of trip funds. Any amount raised above that will go toward soccer balls and art supplies for the orphanages, and toward my next missions trip to Uganda.
Here’s how you can participate with me in the blessing of connecting with and investing in the lives of orphans in these countries.
