We bid farewell to author, Sunny Seki. His children's stories focus on Japanese folktales and woven together with easily understood morals and ethics that we can all see and use. Especially good for children, no matter what grade or heritage. www.sunnyseki.com.
Very cool.

We had a great weekend up at the Old Bear with laughter and great food...BBQ, And a little rain. We had a friend with a (scary...) drone who took some great shots of the B&B from 200 feet...very impressive. I think we may have alarmed the PMC security patrol..."There's a drone over the golf course!"
BIG WEEKEND coming up...the car show, Run to the Pines is on Saturday...the last community gasp before school starts. More events coming up though.
Next week (August 15,16,17th) is the Center of the World festival of plays, videos and music...begins Friday evening...lots of folks, lots of fun, go to www.COWfest.org for more information.
And finally, the Mountain Theater Alliance is performing "Greater Tuna" at Basecamp on Labor Day weekend. Beans Morroco and I are impersonating a bevy of characters as we bring Tuna, Texas to Pine Mountain...'mon down, pard...yee-ha!

Find a venue for your talents at Center of the World Festival. Find various contests for playwrights, songwriters, poets, storytellers, and videographers. Take part in one or more contests and get a chance to showcase your craft and win grant prizes up to $500. We are an arts and culture festival he…

Today was the cultural tour on Tejon Ranch and, thanks to Bonnie Kane and Scott Pipkin saw evidence of so much of the history of the area along with Golden Eagle, Turkey Vulture, Bobcat, Lewis' Woodpecker (awesome bird), pigs on the run, Kestrel and Red Tail. The history of the ranch and those that called it home is both tragic and the at the same time, marvelous. What a privilege it is. here is a shot of Compass Rock and a posing Redtail Hawk. He looks mad...maybe he doesn't like being photographed. What a day it has been.

Poor guy looks cold...imagine. He's back this week in Pine Mountain on Saturday at 12 for the parade through the village...ad gift requests in the gazebo. Still have snow on the ground, festive with the lights shining in the night. I hear sleigh bells, can you?

Well, the festivities are upon us. This Saturday in Frazier Park, Santa will make a stop to see the children of the mountain communities. He's the honored guest in the Frazier Park Holiday Parade. Come see it and all the wonderful people and merchants in this wonderful time of year. Feel the chill in the air, have an eggnog, hot cup of cocoa and meet Santa himselfget a candy cane.

Our guests this weekend have laughed a lot and enjoyed the hot-tub and being away from the heat of the valleys, (San Joaquin and San Fernando). They were wined and dine at the clubhouse dinner theater (showing 'Goodbye-Charlie'...verry funny) which will play again today at a matinee at 4pm. It will run again next week, Thursday and Friday at 7pm and Saturday (closing) at 2:30. Call 661.242.3788 for tickets.
The birds are all back! Including the finches, the Robin, the Grossbeak couple and of course, all of those squirrels!
