Chained Rock still watches over the valley below, the overlooks still stop me in my tracks, and the quiet up here still feels like coming home.

🌲 Then & Now: A glimpse into Pine Mountain’s past

Before it was known as Pine Mountain State Resort Park, this Kentucky treasure was called Cumberland State Park.

This historic postcard shows the lake that once welcomed visitors to the park. Today, that same landscape looks a little different — the area is home to the park’s golf course, but the mountain views remain just as unforgettable.

More than 100 years of memories have been made here, and the landscape continues to tell the story of Kentucky’s state parks.
