π RV Tip of the Day: Check Your Tire Age, Not Just the Tread! π
Many RV owners look at tire tread and assume their tires are still good. The truth is that RV tires often age out before they wear out.
βοΈ Sun exposure, weather, and long periods of sitting can cause tires to dry rot and weaken over time.
A good rule of thumb: Have your tires inspected regularly and pay close attention once they reach 3-5 years old, even if they still look like they have plenty of tread.
πYou can find the tireβs age by checking the DOT number on the sidewall. The last four digits show the week and year the tire was manufactured.
Taking a few minutes to check your tires can help prevent a blowout and keep your family safe on the road.
