HAB ADVISORY LIFTED

As of August 5, 2025, no visual evidence of a Harmful Algal Bloom (HAB) has been observed in Echo Canyon Reservoir.

Nevada Division of Environmental Protection has recommended lifting the HAB Advisory.

HAB activity can change at any time, if you see water that looks discolored or smells bad, stay away.

Echo Canyon Reservoir, located in Echo Canyon State Park, has been placed under a HAB Watch Advisory due to a possible Harmful Algae Bloom.

Visual assessments have indicated a possible bloom. Water tests are currently being conducted by the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP). These toxic algae can cause serious health issues for humans and animals.

If you see water that looks discolored or smells bad, stay away. Pets should be kept away from all water bodies under a HAB advisory.

🎣🌊 Construction on the Echo Canyon dam is slowly wrapping up, and the reservoir is beginning to refill!

While it may be a while before it reaches full capacity, the park remains fully open—and anglers are already reporting good fishing, even with the lower water levels.

Pack your gear and come enjoy some springtime serenity at Echo Canyon State Park!

Just a few quick things for tomorrow's Kids Fishing Derby we will have a registration booth set up at 7:30 am please get the kids registered. We will be done fishing by 11:00 am there will be a few booths measuring fish please only bring your biggest and smallest fish to be measured! Also you can come sooner than 11 if the kids are done fishing early. It will be hot so please drink plenty of water and wear sunscreen! Bring your own shade as well. PARK ALERT: The North Campground at Echo Canyon State Park will be closed for renovations beginning May 28th, 2024.

The campground will be getting some upgrades and will remain under construction throughout the summer. Campsites will be back open on August 29th, 2024.
