Do you have an eye for capturing the beauty of West Carroll Parish? Here’s your chance to show it off!

The West Carroll Parish Tourism Commission is hosting a community-wide photography contest to highlight the natural beauty, history, and charm of our area!

👉 How it works:

• Submit your best, original photos that represents the unique beauty of West Carroll Parish by sharing it below this post.
• By entering, you grant permission for your photo(s) to be used in future promotional materials to showcase our parish.
• All entries must be submitted by November 15, 2025.
• The photo with the most “likes” will then be selected as our winner and the top 3 photographs will be awarded as follows: 1st - $100; 2nd - $50; & 3rd - $25.
• Submission details: each person can enter a max of 3 photos. Post each as a separate comment. Each photo “like” equals 1 vote. On Nov. 16, 2025, votes will be tallied snd winners will be awarded. ** any/all photos will potentially be used in digital, print, and audiovisual material to promite West Carroll Parish.

🎨 Big News, Oak Grove! 🎨
We’re excited to welcome Virginia-based muralist Cheyenne Marcus to town! She’s here as part of her inspiring “50 in 50 Project”, where she’s painting 50 murals in 50 states — and Oak Grove is proudly representing Louisiana!
Cheyenne will be working on a mural in our downtown courtyard over the next few days, and we’d love for everyone to stop by, say hello, and show her some Oak Grove hospitality. 💛
Once the mural is complete, we’ll be hosting a small ceremony to unveil the finished piece and celebrate this vibrant new addition to our community. Stay tuned for details!
Let’s make Cheyenne feel right at home while she brings her beautiful vision to life here in Oak Grove! 🎨✨

A fun weekend experience!

We hope to see everyone on site for our Earth Oven Cooking program this Saturday! Our rangers will be using fire to heat replica Poverty Point Objects for cooking! Everything kicks off at 11 AM on March 8th, and we look forward to sharing this unique, ancient, indigenous cooking method with you!
