🐿️ Did you know we have a celebrity living in the park?

Our area is famous for its rare White Squirrels, a unique variation of the Eastern Gray Squirrel and a beloved symbol of Hendersonville! While they can be hard to spot in the wild, we’re lucky to have one right here in the park.

Meet “Fluffy,” lovingly named by our camp host, Margaret and her family, who captured these adorable photos of our local star. 📸✨

What a decade it’s been. From adapting through COVID, to recovering after Tropical Storm Fred, and continuing forward after Helene… it hasn’t always been an easy road, but it’s been a meaningful one.

Whether you’ve been here since day one or just stopped in once or twice, we’re grateful you’ve been part of the journey. Our goal has always been simple — to create a place where everyone feels welcome. A place where stories are shared, friends check in on each other, dogs get treats, kids play by the river, and memories are made.

We’re thrilled to announce that the Fifth Annual Forks of the River Fly Fishing & Music Festival is set for March 6th & 7th, 2026 at Deerwoode Reserve in Brevard, NC!

This two-day celebration brings together anglers, outdoor enthusiasts, and music lovers on the banks of the French Broad River for a weekend of fly fishing, fellowship, and fun. Expect live bluegrass music, local craft beer, fly tying and casting clinics, educational seminars, vendors, food trucks, kid’s activities, and much more.

Hosted by Headwaters Outfitters and Davidson River Outfitters, the Forks of the River Festival has become one of Western North Carolina’s premier gatherings for the fly fishing community — and this year’s fifth anniversary promises to be our best yet.
