🚧 Davidson River Campground Closure & North Slope Trail Access Update

Davidson River Campground is now closed for a six-month renovation — an exciting project led by the U.S. Forest Service and Naventure that will upgrade facilities and enhance the visitor experience when it reopens next spring. ✨

During construction, the North Slope Trail remains accessible, except for the short connector into the campground’s Laurel Loop. Access the trail via the Exercise Trail, which will temporarily allow bike use. Please follow posted signs, and share the trail courteously. 🌲

Enjoy It While You Can—Renovations Coming Soon 🛠️🏕️

If Davidson River Campground is on your list, now’s the time to plan a visit! Starting November 2025, the campground will temporarily close through May 2026 for a full renovation of the bathhouses 🚿✨

This project—led by the US Forest Service and Naventure—is all about enhancing comfort and privacy, with modern upgrades that reflect our continued investment in a great guest experience 🌲💚

We can’t wait to welcome you back once the improvements are complete—but there’s plenty of time to come on out before then! ☀️⛺

🌲 GOOD NEWS! Select Naventure-Operated Sites in Pisgah National Forest Reopening October 18, 2024! 🌲

We’re excited to announce that several of your favorite campgrounds and recreation areas in Pisgah National Forest are reopening this Friday, October 18! If you’ve been waiting to get back out into nature, now’s your chance to enjoy these beautiful sites once again:

- Davidson River Campground & Recreation Area
- Cove Creek Upper & Lower Group Campgrounds
- Kuykendall Group Campground
- Wash Creek Horse Camp
- Wolf Ford Horse Camp

While some areas are still recovering from Hurricane Helene, these spots are fully operational and ready to welcome you back! We encourage visitors to enjoy the beauty of the forest but remain mindful of a few lingering hazards in the forest like fallen trees, rough roads, and limited restroom facilities. (Naventure-operated restroom facilities are fully operational)

Still Closed:
- Lake Powhatan Campground & Recreation Area
- North Mills River Campground & Recreation Area
- Pisgah Glamping at Lake Powhatan
- Sliding Rock Recreation Area (Closed until Memorial Day 2025)
- Sunburst Campground (Closed until 2025)
- White Pine South Group Campground

Formerly Adventure Pisgah, we've united all of our campgrounds and recreation areas in North Carolina, including Davidson River Campground, to better serve you under one banner. We are in need of hosts between June and Mid November to finish out the 2021 Camping Season! At least a 3 month commitment is required.

In exchange for a full hook site, couples complete duties in roles such as gatehouse, retail, site clean up, light maintenance, etc.

Hosts are responsible for making sure the campers on your loop are happy and following campground rules and guidelines.
