Dogs to hang loose at Pismo Beach surfing event

Something cute and athletic is coming to the Central Coast next month. Dogs are going to hang loose and ride the waves at Pismo Beach for the World Dog Surfing Exhibition Tour.
World Dog Surfing is where the “top dog surfers” come together with their human pals to compete to bring home the gold. Usually, the championships take place off the coast of Northern California, as the event first originated in the San Francisco Bay Area.
But this year, organizers are making a stop at Pismo Beach, and they are inviting local dog surfers to enter and show off their skills.
The event is on Saturday, May 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and it’s free to watch.
People who’d like to enter their dogs can do so by reserving a spot.... More information can be found on the World Dog Surfing’s website.
