Another couple married off and sent out into the world this weekend. And what send off it was. This time it was Haylie and Austin.

It rained for 3 straight days. I’m not going to lie. We needed it. Badly. But when you look at the forecast on Wednesday and it shows a 100% chance of rain on wedding day, it can be a little disheartening. But, if you’re from around here you know that yesterday ended up being one of the most beautiful days ever.

Rehearsal day was definitely a washout. We kinda halfway did a little bit of a rehearsal but it was so dang wet and rainy it was mostly just eat gumbo and sort of discuss the plans.

By the time wedding morning rolled around it was solid blue skies and low humidity. Literal perfection. CeeJay came up with a new idea for a wedding location which she’s been trying to do for most of the time we’ve been having weddings. I posted that photo yesterday. And man was it pretty.

Couple that perfect day with some amazing family and probably 10 returning guests and alumni who’ve been here many, many times previously and you’ve got yourself a recipe for one heck of a party!

Congratulations Haylie and Austin. Enjoy each other as you traverse through this thing called life. 😘

I got a little distracted after Saturday’s wedding and completely forgot to get this post up. We shot Madeline’s bridals way back in November too, so I’ve had to just forget about those for 4 months!

It was a great premiere to start our final season. We couldn’t have asked for better weather, a better couple or a more enjoyable family. These are the moments we’re definitely going to miss. As we’re doing all the preparations there’s a bit of relief that we won’t be doing it much longer, but then during the reception when everyone is partying and celebrating there’s certainly a sadness inside.

Big thanks to Madeline and Coby for choosing to celebrate with us and a big thanks to their family for just being awesome.

Here’s something very few people know about us. Mostly because we asked them to keep quiet about it because you can imagine the insane influx of messages and calls we would get if the general public found out.

We usually did one free wedding a year. We never sought out who would get a free wedding. We just let their story tell us they were the ones. We never shared this with anyone. We treated them just like all the rest of our weddings. It literally started in our very first year when a family member reached out and it just felt…right.

So, that being said, we’re actually discussing the possibility of still having maybe one, possibly two completely free weddings a year out here. Now hold on…we have no idea of the logistics or how we would make this work. No idea how we would choose who it would be so you’re gonna have to wait until we get all that figured out. I just wanted to float the idea out there. How we would choose a date if we did one spring and one fall. So let us get all that figured out before you start calling or messaging…pretty please.

Thank every single one of you for the comments, messages and outpouring of love you showed to us in our last post. Keep an eye here for future updates on this POSSIBLE change.

This is a terribly difficult post to create. I've been mulling over it for days on how best to approach this subject, but nothing special has come to mind. So I'll just spill it.

After nearly 10 years and over 200 weddings, we have decided we're not taking any 2027 bookings. I got a job offer that I just couldn't pass up, so I took it. I can't leave CeeJay here to attempt to do the insane amount of work it takes to prepare, set up, decorate, coordinate and run an entire wedding, so we've decided it's best we just bow out and keep the amazingly incredible memories we have made with our couples and families with whom we got to spend time.

Now, you will see more posts from us as we complete all of our 2026 weddings. So don't let that fool you. Will they be amazing? Yes. Will that make us want to keep doing them? Also, yes. But I think it's time we moved on and believe me when I tell you we will cherish every single wedding we have had out here.

From storms knocking the power out just hours before the nuptials and having to have the wedding by candlelight to hurricanes destroying everything and having to rebuild it all before the next wedding.

There have been many, many late nights with some of the best people and best food you could ask for. The amazing caterers, DJs, photographers, videographers, bakers and all the wonderful people we've met made this entire experience something incredible.

It's been 10 years of memories seared into our brains. Who knows, maybe one day we will write a book. Feel free to drop YOUR favorite memory below! We'd love to read them through our tears. ;)

I have a to give a HUGE thank you to all of the people who made this endeavor possible and kept us alive over the past 10 years. We've made a lot of forever friends we still run into from time to time and I'm sure we will for years to come. If they allow us, we keep up with most of our couples on social media and we watch them grow from couples to full on families.

So with that, I'll leave you with both our gratitude and our love.

All the best to all of you... The Sugar Chateau.

Happy New Year!!

DID YOU KNOW?!

You get a bridal portrait session included when you book your wedding with us? You may ask, "are bridal portraits really that important?" I mean in the big scheme, probably not. However, it offers you a chance to wear your dress more than once, while giving you a practial practice run with your hair and makeup. Plus you get some really awesome photos to show off later as you grow older. When your kids ask about your wedding day, you get to show them what you looked like in your dress without all the other hoopla happening around you. Plus they're my favorite thing to shoot. :) We will travel to your favorite place to shoot them, if you have one in mind.

Not only that, but you get wedding coordination, set up, tear down, clean up, tables, chairs, decor and tons of other amenities. And we have quite a few openings left in our fall schedule. So don't delay, let's get you married in 2026!

Another Christmas has come and gone and now we're headed toward 2026 at full speed. We hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas season and were able to spend it with your family and friends. I know we sure enjoy seeing all of our couples posting up their family photos and we can't help but feel a little emotional being able to watch so many of y'all grow your families larger and larger every year.

Merry Christmas everyone and Happy New Year! Here's to a great 2026 for all of us!

Welcome to December, everyone. It's hard to believe it's already here. I swear we just had our 4th of July celebration last month. How is time traveling so quickly these days? Anyway, as we head into everyone's favorite time of year, I've got our last wedding of the season to share with you! But first, if you're reading this and thinking about getting married, we have quite a few openings in our 2026 seasons, so feel free to reach out and schedule a tour!

Paightyn and James were the ones we got to celebrate with for our final 2025 wedding. And man it was so worth it. We had so much fun with them and their families. We had know idea they knew so many of the people we have met over the years out here. It was a like a dang reunion.

As always, we try and plan the weddings around sunset. That golden hour just makes everything so awesome. These two shared their first kiss after saying their vows in a beam of sunlight that was just perfect.

So we set off into our off season which seems shorter every year with the hopes that all of our couples, past and future have an amazing holiday season and we will see you all in 2026.

I saw the fog moving in and thought it would make a neat photo.
