Did you know six different kinds of edible berries grow on site? Elderberry, strawberry, blackberry, raspberry, partridge berry and blueberry. However the elderberries usually need some help and though you can eat partridge berries, the taste is pretty bland.

"Open tent" all this week. Stop by and I'll be happy to show you around. We won't be posting any pictures until everything is tweaked later this week.

Spring weather is rushing in, and this year is going to be an interesting challenge of balancing trail projects, gardening and working on this site. We're at the mercy of time and the vagaries of nature, but we have all the pieces we need; it's "just" a matter of putting them into place. Our goal is to have a full service trail hut in place by the summer season. In the short term, it will help fulfill the demand for camping on the trails, but in the longer term it will be one of the first huts along an extensive, interlinked system of singletrack stretching from Killington to Stowe and beyond.

Do no harm. Foster serendipity, adventure, beauty, serenity and community in whatever ways are appropriate. Strive for simplicity in all things. Follow best practices in environmental sustainability without exception.

I really didn't intend for the paper mache ram to have such an accusing expression, but when he get's mounted in the pizza kitchen/trail kiosk next to the map, maybe he'll be able to guilt a few more people into forking over some donations for the Green Mountain Trails.

Crates and crates of old bike parts cluttered my corner of the Amee Barn. I had somehow inherited them after the former farmers acquired them from a defunct bike shop in Mass. Their plans for a mail order recumbent bike shop never got off the ground. My challenge for the winter is utilizing as many parts as I can. Old bike tubes will be woven into seats for bar stools. Rims, chains and cogs should make some interesting chandeliers for the pizza kitchen. I already fashioned a toilet paper holder from a bar end and a stem. The possibilities are limitless.
