They say the streets of Placerville were paved with gold, but at the Historic Cary House Hotel, even our floors were a gold mine!

When our 4th floor was added in 1908, it was partially funded by gold dust recovered right from the cracks in the lobby floorboards. Talk about "found money"!

Come walk on history (and maybe keep an eye out for a sparkle) next time you visit.
