In 2008, my boyfriend brought me to Little Gasparilla Island for the first time. In 2012, we came back as husband and wife and brought our daughter. She opted to stay on the island the entire week and skip the Florida attractions. Like us she was hooked. We took her fishing, shell and shark tooth hunting and taught her how to boogie board. In 2016, we came back with all three of our children. We v
isited the Florida sites, but gave most the time to our little island. It was during this time that my husband and I started talking about how perfect it would be to retire on Little Gasparilla. We found some land and when we got home we started negotiations. We closed on the property and came back in the spring of 2017 to see the land and start to visual our dream. Pilings went up in the fall of 2017 and the house is starting to become a reality. My husband and I are not ready to retire yet, so we made the decision to rent out our dream so that others can come to paradise and enjoy it as much as we do.
