Slabtown Horse Camp LLC

In regard to this notice from the Forest Service, it will not affect fall riding out of Slabtown Horse Camp!. After speaking with our contact at the Forest Service we verified the work will not start until December 1st. They also assured us they want this project finished by May 2027. Also next spring we will talk with Forest Service about a work around for the portion of the trail that goes accross Paddy Creek Rd & the road back to the Paddy creek campground, hopefully we can keep the entire loop that goes around by the Big Piney Primitive Camp open.

To facilitate planned repair work and for public safety, Forest Road 211 will be closed as seen on the attached map. Also, some sections of nearby trail will be closed for public use during this time.

We are so blessed to have several customers come out and spend Labor Day Weekend with us desipe the heat. Folks are riding in the morning, resting in the afternoon, sitting around in the evening visiting while a nice breeze blow through camp. I have even seen a few campfire! 🔥 We truely have the best customers!!!

This dry and hot.weather is crazy. Several long time resident have told us us the driest they have ever seen. We've been here since 2019 and is the lowest we seen the Paddy Creek.

Just got home from Palisades Park in Pagosa Springs Colorado. Some awesome trails. Time to get back to work finishing up projects that pile up when take time away. Looking forward to coming fall riding season .

This won't effect our Campground, but I thought it might be of interest to you folks who camp at State Campgrounds.

Camping permit will benefit campers through better and safer experiences on MDC areas.
