Autumn is made for the kind of Point Reyes day that leaves you pleasantly worn out.

Spend a few hours on the trail, then trade hiking boots for dinner in town and a short walk back to the Inn.

You don't have to drive far from the Inn for a beautiful morning hike. Just a few miles up the Tomales Bay coast, you'll find Millerton. The trail goes down and around Tomales Bay, with views of the Ridge and Inverness on the other side.

Millerton has a dedicated parking lot and bathrooms.

Pack a picnic and head for Heart’s Desire Beach.

Sheltered on Tomales Bay, the water is calmer and warmer than the outer coast, and the little beach is made for lingering over lunch, wading in, or stretching out beneath the trees.
