June is a lovely time to settle into Point Reyes for a few days.

The days are longer, the coast is cool, and the little villages around the bay start to feel quietly alive with summer. You can walk into town for coffee, drive out toward the beaches and spot wildlife, stop for oysters, browse the farmers market.

June mornings on Tomales Bay are worth lingering over.

Some days the water is calm, the birds are busy, and the whole bay seems to wake up before the villages do. Rent a kayak, walk by the water, stop for lunch, then come back to the Inn before the evening fog settles in.

Western Weekend is one of those Point Reyes traditions that feels wonderfully local.

On June 6 and 7, town fills up with the farmers market, music, food, families, horses, and Sunday’s parade down Main Street. It’s a good weekend to wander, run into people, and remember that this is still a village at heart.

Guests of the Inn can leave their car parked and easily walk around the bend to all the festivities, the Barn Dance and parade!
