It’s been a long winter, but spring is around the corner. We’re starting to tackle some improvements around the cabin.

I’m honestly so lucky that we’ve had some great guests for our first few while we are getting up and running, renting out our cabin. One of our recent guests noted that the temperature had been turned down, so the cabin was cold when they arrived. Not having been there myself between guests, I had no idea! So, we’ve replaced our thermostat with a smart thermostat. Now I can keep an eye on the cabin and adjust the temperature from anywhere!

Take a step back in time to a simpler way of life! Enjoy this log cabin that was originally built in the pioneer days. While the cabin retains the charm of the 1800's, it also has been updated with basic amenities like electricity, indoor plumbing, hot water, and everything you would expect from a modern cabin. Located on Cataract Lake, yards from a public boat launch, this is the perfect spot to get out onto the lake or just relax amongst the trees.

Putnam County Fairgrounds is a local attraction and the area's natural beauty can be seen at McCormick's Creek State Park and Lieber State Park. Kayaking, motor boating, and fishing offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with hunting nearby.
