Somehow drag yourself out of the warm, comfortable king-size bed, grab the luxurious cotton robes waiting for you in the closet and make your way out to your private dining area. Look out the French doors or go out onto your private deck and enjoy the lake view… let it take your breath away. Sit and be served the breakfast of your choice and linger as long as you. If you choose, your afternoon may include lunch at the Vanilla Bean Café, a hike or a leisurely walk along a country trail, berry picking in summer months or apple and pumpkin picking in the fall. Sitting by the flickering wood burning stove and watching the snow falling during the winter is especially relaxing at Fox Hill Farm. Return to the cottage and freshen up for an elegant dinner at one of the area’s award-winning restaurants including Sharpe Hill Vineyard and Grille 37 here in Pomfret and Bella’s Bistro in nearby Putnam. At some point in the evening, find serenity, sleep well and dream. The next day do it all again. Your stay at the cottage will become a lasting memory for both of you.

“Peaceful and Serene”
My husband and I stayed here for the night. It was a quaint little cottage, so cozy and homie. The owner Nick had thought of everything from snacks drinks and all the little things that you-never think of. It was a nice break from reality with beautiful views. Looking forward to going back in the summer to really enjoy the beauty of it. Nick was a sweetheart. He met us outside and walked us through the cottage.He even made breakfast the next morning ..sometimes the simplest of times are the best of times. Thank you for everything Nick!

“A Relaxing Stay with Heart.”
The Inn at Fox Hill Farm was a wonderful place to stay. The property was very clean and had a charming, rustic country feel that made it cozy and relaxing. The complimentary snacks and drinks were a thoughtful touch and truly appreciated. Having coffee readily available was a great bonus as well. The innkeeper was kind, welcoming, and attentive, making the stay feel personal and comfortable. Breakfast was very good, with several options to choose from, which made mornings enjoyable. Overall, it was a pleasant and peaceful stay, and I would gladly recommend it to others looking for a comfortable countryside retreat.

Nick made us feel very much at home and I have to say have never stayed in accommodation with so many generous offerings. Nick made sure the fridge was filled with a complimentary selection of drinks/juice/chocolates, fresh bread as well as cooking us breakfast each morning. He also instructed my husband to feed me chocolates while I soaked in the lovely claw bath indulging in a selection of bath bombs and bubble bath - What more does a girl need. The peaceful location, cozy fire and lovely little deck overlooking the pond was beautiful even on a rainy day. The geese that arrived/departed at regular intervals was a lovely addition as well.
☹️ That we couldn't stay longer.

Spacious cottage and lovely views of the lake and woods. Comfy, clean and cozy inside with lots of room and couches for reading and taking a nap. The breakfast was delicious and served personally by the host. The bed was heavenly! Can’t wait to go back.

A recent guest from Hawaii sent me a thank you email with the following note, poem and photo of our pond. I am thankful and humbled by his comments.

Dear Nick,
You are an extraordinary inn keeper running an extraordinary inn. I left my review for Trip Advisor, but I want you to personally know my feelling. Your place was special. The Bed was excellent as was the Breakfast. We have never stayed at a place in which the inn keeper was so generous with everything! I mean, beer in the fridge, as much coffee as you can drink, a loaf of bread and CANDY! The homemade breakfast was incredilble. The view from the kitchen was soothing and relaxing. I want to mention the mattress again. Never have we enjoyed a comfortable a night as we did at your inn.

“The Best Place We Have Ever Stayed
The Cottage at the Inn at Fox Hill was the best overnight stay we have ever had, and we have stayed at a lot of places both in the US and Europe. Anything you could have wanted was provided, and the outdoor deck overlooking the pond was very special. We are looking for an excuse to go back and stay again. It is truly an amazing place.
