Spring showed up at The Lodge and she brought flowers.🌷

Our little creek is running, the flower boxes are getting filled up, and those aqua doors are looking pretty good against all that color. This is what you pull up to when you check in.

Nearby, the Arkansas River is running strong for rafting right now. Wildflowers are popping on the trails above 9,000 feet. The patios in downtown Salida are open. All of it is 20 to 30 minutes from right here.

Colorado VW Bus Club, look who pulled into our parking lot.

Andrew H., his wife, and "Clyde" came to stay with us recently. Clyde is a 1960 VW Combi SO 23. A Westfalia camping conversion, considered one of the holy grails among VW collectors. Wooden interior fittings. Roof hatch. Fully and lovingly restored. Award-winning.

A vintage camper van. At a vintage motor lodge. Built the same era. Groovy!

We have a metal VW van sculpture in our courtyard that has been making people smile for years. Clyde, she finally met her match.

Thank you for bringing Clyde to Poncha Springs. He fit right in.

This is Glen. His father looked at a rundown building in Poncha Springs in 1976 and saw a restaurant. America was turning 200 that year, and that kind of vision… taking something overlooked and building something real out of it… is exactly what this country has always been made of.

Now we are turning 250. That entrepreneurial spirit is still alive and well right here at the Crossroads of the Rockies.

The Lodge has been part of this community since 1962. We are proud to stand alongside neighbors like Glen and his family who helped shape what Poncha Springs is today.

Our Single Courtyard Queens keep showing up in reviews for one reason. People expect a standard motel room. They walk into knotty pine walls, quality bedding, and a quiet courtyard right outside the door.

Dawn and her team prep every one of them with care. Essential oils. Fresh linens. Every single time.

Six cozy cabin-style rooms, each about 120 square feet of exactly what two people need after a big day in the mountains.

Fair warning: no refrigerator or microwave in these rooms. Small rooms, honest owners. But the shower is tiled, the bed is excellent, and the stream outside the door is magic.
