They set their bag down. They walk to the window. They look out at the mountains. And then they say something like, "oh, okay." Or, "this is the place." Or nothing at all.

City of Salida Arts & Culture is bringing Jazz Fest to Riverside Park tomorrow, and it's free.

Saturday, August 8. The Jazz Merchants at 1:30, Zephyr Quartet at 3, Borahm Lee Quintet at 5, and The Falconaires closing it out at 7. Bring a blanket. Bring a picnic. Bring good ears.

The Lodge is about 10 minutes from downtown Salida. Come for the music. Tell us all about it afterwards. We'll leave the twinkly lights on.

City of Salida Arts & Culture has downtown Salida going full jazz mode tomorrow night.

Jazzy First Friday is 6 to 9 PM in the Creative District. Galleries open late. Live music on the street from Shaw & Zimola. Chris Nasca playing at the host gallery, Salida Dreamer, at 139 W 1st. Free to wander, easy to lose an hour, and about 10 minutes from the Lodge.

If you're already thinking about Saturday's Jazz Fest in Riverside Park, Friday night is the warmup. Come down for both.
