The Heritage Trout Challenge on the Upper Kern begins with three native trout found nowhere else in the world.

The Kern River Rainbow is abundant here, rising in cold, clear runs just off our private trail. California’s Golden Trout can be found too, a prize for anglers patient enough to bring one to hand. And most remarkable of all, a Little Kern Golden was recently caught this far upstream, a rare reminder of how wild this fishery still is.
