Looking for a vacation rental? We no longer can use some days we blocked for our personal stay so the summer schedule has a few openings. Alder Street Retreat typically books out a year ahead during our summer peak season!

If you're willing to wait and watch, you might catch the bioluminescence AND the Aurora Borealis this week. 💙

The past week has been full of mind boggling nature experiences 🤯 Last night made me feel like the luckiest guy alive!! I went down to the beach as soon as it got dark to look for bioluminescence and immediately noticed the waves were glowing blue as bright as I've ever seen them!!

I was so excited I set up for my shot and started taking tons of photos, I began a panorama towards the North and that is when I noticed the Aurora borealis had started to put on an incredible show as well!! So here I was watching the waves glow bright blue while watching the Northern Lights vibrantly dance through the sky ✨ As i peered down and noticed i was also capturing the beautiful reflection of the lights,️ I suddenly found myself living in a dream 🥰

Then I started thinking.. Im not as lucky as I am prepared. You have a better chance at getting lucky if you put yourself in the position to get lucky. I would have never had such luck if I didn't sacrifice my sleep to go out and put myself in this position at night to have this incredible experience.

Bioluminescence is STRONG on the Washington coast right now!! And theres more chances for Northern Lights this week 🤩 So go put yourself in a position to get lucky, chances are, you won't regret it!!!

Grateful our amazing property manager captured this rainbow from Alder Street Retreat! The views from our home are stunning! So very grateful this is our vacation home and that we get to share it with guests who also appreciate the water, mountain and forest vistas from our property! Will be a few more years before we retire and move back to our beloved home and my . Thank you for capturing this snowy wonderland this past weekend!

Did you know there are only two national parks with ski facilities? Yosemite in California (gorgeous!) and "The Ridge" in "PA." Cool, huh?? 🤗

Hurricane Ridge is just 19 miles up the hill from Alder Street Retreat. Ski then get back home for a soak in our hot tub and relax inside with views of the forest, the water and Victoria, BC. "PA" is a beautiful place to visit year-round and easy to find spots to social distance away from crowds, including in our gorgeous private property which feels like your own private park and playground. 💚

🧡 🦀 PA appeals to all the senses including your tastebuds. Check out what's happening at and book soon for their own Crab Fest THIS WEEKEND! This is the time of year so many would look forward to the annual crab festival. It's been rescheduled to October 2021 AND all you seafood lovers can still get your fix to crack those crab legs and enjoy that sweet juicy delicate meat dripping in butter.

• Whoa! It is a huge week at Sapor! Tuesday begins with Italian Family Night, Wednesday it is Comfort food Night, Thursday is Happy Hours, and then a super weekend. We are hosting our own crab fest Friday 10/9 and Saturday 10/10. Of course there will also be wine tasting Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Port Angeles, let's celebrate fall and the crab season opening! Reservations are strongly recommended, please call (360) 417-6929.
