This is a dog I’ve had here for 9 months, I would like to keep her but, she requires an investment and I need some help.

From Lily Swan: I watched an interview with the arborist who is tending to the Banyan tree in Lahaina. He said all of her trunks have living tissue behind the bark. She is low on sap. She is in a tree coma. There is someone now giving her regular care with good long soaks and sprays into her upper branches. They are aerating her soil, giving her compost tea, fertilizer, and mulch. He said we will hope for new leaves in 3-6 months and we will know she is awake. She is our symbol of hope. Please send her energetic hugs.
Hold the people of Kula and Lahaina in your hearts, send them strength and courage through this time of collective trauma.

Also. Roots have been dug up and taken to the University of Hawaii for propagation just in case. The banyan WILL survive one way or another.

Join the Olympic Peninsula Humane Society Saturday August 19th from 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM at Tractor Supply located at 114 E Lauridsen BLVD, Port Angeles, Wa 98362 for our BIGGEST adoption event this year!

Here you can view dogs available for adoption and speak to staff and volunteers about our organization. We place all dogs from adoption events into our foster to adopt program. Unless being transported to Canada, those must be adopted outright. This ensures that anyone who has any hesitations on bringing home a pup from one of our events feels completely supported by our organization until they are 100% sure it is the correct fit for their family. We send each dog placed during an event home with a goodie bag that contains treats, food for a week, toys, collar, leash and waste bags.

If you are interested in possibly making a new addition to your household please submit a general inquiry with “ Adoption Event Saturday The 19th “ in the placement for the dog's name. We will follow up with everyone who submits applications before Friday the 18th at 3 PM to verify that the dogs they are interested in will be attending the event.

NOT ALL DOGS WILL BE ATTENDING THE EVENT ! Please let us know if there is a particular dog you would be interested in meeting.
