SPRING BREAK IS HERE and the Corpus Christi Police Department has a few reminders for the residents and visitors to our beautiful city.

Please be patient. Traffic may be congested as you make your way to the beach. The Corpus Christi Police Department will have additional officers patrolling the beach and roadways.

Don’t drink and drive. Know the Beach Rules:

On ALL beaches:

1. No glass bottles or glass containers
2. Must be 21 years old to consume alcohol
3. Dispose of litter in trash receptacles
4. No canopies left overnight

On Gulf beaches – Additional Rules:

1. Speed limit is 15 mph. All traffic laws apply including Driving While Intoxicated
2. Beach Parking Permits (valid/current) are required
3. No Campfires or Bonfires Allowed due to a Burn Ban in effect for Nueces County
4. No dogs are allowed on the beach (leashed or unleased) from Access Rd 3 to Zahn Rd including the north side of the Packery Channel (city ordinance 10-59).
5. Dogs must be on a leash or under/obey verbal commands on the beach from the south side of Packery Channel (BM 210) to Beach Access Rd 6 (BM 137) (includes Ellis Beach, Whitecap Beach, Padre Balli Park and Bob Hall Pier).
6. No Golf Carts or Off-Highway Vehicles (OHVs) allowed on Park Rd 22, SH361, or any road with a speed limit of more than 35 mph.
7. Camping:
1. Prohibited in front of condos and hotels
2. Allowed for 3 days & nights consecutively, but no more than 6 days within 1 month.

On North Beach and McGee Beach – Additional Rules:

1. No driving on the beach
2. No BBQ pits allowed
3. No moonwalks or other inflatable games
4. No campfires
5. Dogs must be on a leash or under verbal command
