This list of “Bring to the Beach” is a good start for your own list. Remember, if you want to get away from it all, don’t take it all with you. Enjoy your beach time, but be respectful to your neighbors and to the beach itself.
Sunblock – at least 30spf
Hat – wide brim to keep the sun off your face/neck
Clothes & towel – when you’re done with the water, soaking up sun and playing in the sand
Flags and Kite – because they’re fun and they help you find your vehicle when you’re in the waves.
Water - stay hydrated on the beach more than you think you should
Cooler full of beverages – have fun with your favorite drinks; cans only
Snacks – the humidity makes things get soggy quickly; don’t feed the seagulls b/c it’s not good for them and they crap all over your area.
Trash bag – the net types are great for the beach
Beach games – balls, frisbees, etc.; whatever you set up, you’ll have to take down
Washers – easy game to play on the beach with minimal parts; packs small in vehicle
Portable speaker – listen to your tunes, but don’t force your neighbors to listen also; be respectful
Shovel – sandcastles are fun; nice to have in case you get stuck in the sand
Rake – free your area from seaweed and debris
Seat covers – protect your vehicle from sand/wet
Chairs – with fold-out table; rinse after beach
Umbrella – sets up faster than a multi-leg tent
Receiver hitch “L” Mount – fits into receiver hitch on vehicle to hold your umbrella
Air pump – letting some air out of tires can help you get “un-stuck” in the sand
If you need a place to stay, our beautifully comfortable 2/2 CWBH is located in the golf cart friendly part of Port Aransas, although only walking distance from grocery, liquor, restaurants, shopping and more. We’re just a few blocks from the beach. Park multiple vehicles in our RV-sized garage to keep the safe and dry. (Imagine not having to unload after a day at the beach or fishing.) Sip your favorite beverage on our balcony overlooking the sparkling pool and fun fishing pond.
