We are THANKFUL and give all the praise and glory to God the Father, through Jesus Christ, for every single guest who has chosen to stay at our park.
We wish everyone a Happy Blessed THANKSGIVING 🦃
"Charles Dickens once suggested that Americans, instead of having just one Thanksgiving Day each year, ought to have 364. 'Use that one day just for complaining and griping,' he said. “Use the other 364 days to thank God each day for the many blessings he has showered upon you.”
-Andrew Schroer, 364 Days of Thanksgiving
The humor works because it exposes the way we usually live: 364 days of complaining and one day of gratitude. We get things so backwards.
Much like the Israelites in the wilderness, who quickly forgot God’s blessings and focused their energy on grumbling about manna and water, we become engrossed in negativity.
We see our struggles with perfect clarity while being nearly blind to the blessings in which we swim every single day.
Lord have mercy upon us.
Today, as we pause to give thanks to the Lord for all his benefits, is the perfect moment to begin a daily confession that our very existence is a reason for gratitude.
God spoke us into being. He formed us in our mothers’ wombs. He brought us into the light of this world.
Every bite of food that enters our mouths and every sip we drink is a gift from his table.
Every time our fingers grasp an object or our feet carry us from place to place, he is the one giving strength and motion.
Every day we remain warm when it is cold or cool when it is hot is his kindness.
Every sin he forgives, every stain of uncleanness he washes away, every blemish of unrighteousness he covers with the righteousness of Jesus--all of this is his gift to us.
We do not live in a world where God occasionally drops blessings into our laps. There is not one second of our lives in which we are not surrounded by reasons to give thanks.
So thanks be to God for the little things and the big things, for the material blessings and the spiritual ones, and for the greatest gift of all, Jesus Christ.
Let us give praise and glory to God the Father, through Jesus Christ his Son, in the power of the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.
