While I am busy raising equity I've also made time to plant native trees and bushes on the road slopes and am slowly taking out invasive plants like holly. Many friends and family helped out! it definitely takes a village to get over 600 in the ground.

Brother Kevin Burkhart gave me a birthday present of 5 cedar trees and the cages to protect them from deer. Today I planted them and named them for his girls (Sylvia and Georgia) and my sister's 3 children (Heather, Jason and Ryan). May they grow strong and beautiful like all of them.

Luna LOVES to run in the soft dirt! I was up at today to check on the environmental / storm water BMPs and got to see the enormous chipper go after the slash piles. They are lining the road slopes to stabilize the soil and retain moisture and add nutrient for the native plants we'll put in once it starts raining again.

So excited that my driveway is being cut in. This is a huge milestone and these hardworking men made it happen fast and safe. Jim on the right is 71 and still "high climbing". Rob on the left evaluates the jenga of interlocked branches before hand felling with a chain saw. John moves the logs into piles to be removed after the road base is installed.

Luna and I love exploring low tide! Lots of red rock crab in the eel grass. We observed and then moved along. We also saw these unusual red sea anemones.
