Grass buildup on your mower deck is an often overlooked cause of mower cutting issues like uneven cuts, turkey tails in the middle of the mower path and lack of lift from the blades. Keeping your deck clean keeps your cut nice!

Sidenote: mowing wet grass makes it stick worse and avoid washing the deck of your mower. Best way to clean is to blow out the deck after each mow or scrape the grass out by hand.

Regular checks of your spindles and blades goes a long ways to keeping your equipment in top shape.

Always a good idea to check your drive system for debris regularly, found this piece of wood stuck in the variable drive pulley of a toro today. Crazy thing is it still drove, but the noise was horrible! A new set of belts and she will be good to go!
