Now Offering Month Long Rates.

Due to COVID-19 impacts, we're shifting our tiny homes on wheels, which are typically used as nightly rentals, to serve those who need a place rent short term for one month at a time, offering dramatically reduced rates for these extended stays.

The special new rates for December are $1,200 for a one month stay. The one-month bookings can be renewed one month at a time.

We hope that Caravan can serve our community during this new time of need. The rooms are fully furnished, and cute as a button. There is high-speed internet, kitchens, bathrooms, and an outdoor courtyard. Each tiny house is fully independent, and has two separate beds. The rooms are always kept to immaculate cleanliness standards and we are sanitizing the rooms now with the appropriate cleaning and sanitizing agents. We are regularly inspected as an official tourist accommodation by Multnomah Department of Health and the Oregon Health Authority.

UPDATE- I am SO touched by the outpouring of kindness from so many people across Portland and the country! With the generosity of dozens of people, who donated anywhere from $12-$500 to help a complete stranger, Blue and her family now have a safe place to stay for the next month or so. PDX Peeps! Do you know any healthcare workers that need a sweet space to self-isolate? Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Caravan is now offering our unique and beautiful tiny homes at greatly reduced rates due to the drop in regular hotel business. We are shifting our tiny homes on wheels, which are typically used as nightly rentals, to serve those who need a short term rental for 1-4 weeks. **We will be prioritizing healthcare workers who need a place to self-isolate while they work to help our community through this crisis.

Caravan is the first tiny house hotel in the country, and we’ve been proudly serving our community since June, 2013. We hope that Caravan can serve our community during this new time of need. The rooms are fully furnished, and cute as a button. There is high-speed internet, kitchens, bathrooms, and an outdoor courtyard. Each tiny house is fully independent, and has two separate beds. The rooms are always kept to immaculate cleanliness standards and we are sanitizing the rooms now with the appropriate cleaning and sanitizing agents. Our staff are taking every recommended precaution to protect themselves and our guests- wearing gloves, spraying disinfectant on all surfaces and practicing 6ft of social distancing both at Caravan and in their personal lives.

Trying to make sense of the many personal losses we are all facing, while at the same time feeling so much joy and inspiration from the innovative ways that people are shifting the ways they can support, share, and survive in this new reality. On that note...

Eight years ago, Kol and I set out to create the first tiny house hotel in the world. It has thrived as a hotel, brought people together to celebrate local music and been a place where we have had thousands of students, policy makers, ADU lovers and more come to our courtyard to learn about small housing.

Here's a video about Caravan from an amazing French couple that is travelling by bike in the US for a year, and carrying all of their own trash with them for that whole time. After several months of their voyage, they'd only generated about a medium ziplock bag's worth of trash.

PDX Peeps! ONE more Caravan Campfires is happening for Season 5! This Wednesday, August 7th, the one and only... Robin Jackson and the Caravan. The Caravan is playing Caravan- cute, huh? Come see for yourself how fun it is to hang out on Alberta St. surrounded by locally made tiny houses, make GF, Fair Trade s'mores around the bonfire and listen to really darned good local music at a family-friendly event.
