Room 529 at The Jupiter Hotel

Room 529 at The Jupiter Hotel Writing, performance, film and music - inspired by, and created in…room 529 Now the partnership and series are back at The Jupiter Hotel in their biggest suite.

Originally housed in the Hotel Modera (now The Zags), “Room 529” is a series that celebrates a no-rules collaborative space. In the past, short films, interviews (like Wim Wenders), a Portlandia episode, filmmaker premiere parties, photo shoots, music videos, live musical performances, author readings, and artist residencies have all taken place in this unique hotel room. "Room 529" will operate i

n partnership with, but independently of, the hotel. It will be a creative explosion unto itself, and a catalyst to energize, explore, and support the arts and culture of Portland. Hosted and curated by filmmaker/musician/entrepreneur Matt Schulte, founder and CEO of Lower Boom.

Last nights Channeling Jupiter event in Room 529 at the Jupiter Hotel was fantastic. Here’s folks assembling the “live zine” that every attendee got at the end of the event (and a couple shots of the poets). The zine contained illustrations/art done during the event, to document the event, by , bios of the great poets who read and , and .exe who both read and curated the evening. Thank you to the Jupiter for having us and for all their help!

Themes present in their recent soft sculpture and illustrative work include concepts like grief, ferality, identity, ghosts, and memory.

and Mar ( on Instagram).

Our audience will walk away with a one-of-a kind, limited edition piece of media (an insta-zine), made to make reference to moments in the experience of the event, featuring live art by Buck, and other surprises. The zine will be signed and numbered, only available to those attending, and printed immediately after the performances.
