Before we can welcome you in, we need to make a few changes.🛠️

The next few months are going to look a little different around here.

We’re creating something new, and that means there will be projects, decisions, surprises, beautiful moments, messy moments, and probably a few things that don’t go quite according to plan.

And we want to bring you along for the ride.

You’ll see the good, the bad, and maybe even the ugly as this new chapter takes shape.

Because creating a space for meaningful experiences doesn’t happen overnight. It takes vision, patience, work, and a willingness to keep going when things get messy.

So for now, consider us under construction.

We’ll be sharing the process along the way, and when the doors are finally ready to open, we hope you’ll feel like you were part of the journey from the very beginning. 💜

We're officially in the moving phase, which means the boxes have multiplied, the to-do list seems to have developed a life of its own, and the new Purple City is still very much a work in progress.

But that's part of the fun.

We're not going to wait until everything is finished and picture-perfect to bring you along.

And before we turn the page, we want to say one thing:

Thank you.

Over the years, people have found their way to this little corner of Oregon from nearly every part of the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii, and from around the world, including Japan, the UK, Dubai, China, and Singapore.

You came for different reasons.

To rest.
To recover.
To reconnect.
To reflect.
To explore.
To simply have a little space to breathe.

And every person who walked through the door became part of the story of this place.

Thank you for trusting Purple City with your healing journeys, your celebrations, your questions, your quiet moments, and your time.

Thank you for allowing this space to be part of your story.

There are places where the night sky feels completely different.

Out in the Sahara, far from the lights and noise of the city, the desert becomes incredibly still.

The dunes stretch around you. The day finally quiets down. And suddenly, there's an entire sky above you that you have time to actually notice.

This is one of the experiences waiting for us in Morocco.

Not another item to check off an itinerary.

Just time to be still, look up, and take it all in.

Imagine spending a week sailing the Croatian coast, waking up on the water, exploring islands and coastal towns, sharing meals, having unhurried conversations, and leaving plenty of room for both adventure and rest.

That's what we're creating for our Croatia Wellness Retreat, October 3–11, 2026.

And because this is a wellness retreat, there is more than beautiful scenery waiting for you.

You'll have opportunities for daily yoga, Thai massage, and other wellness activities on board, giving you space to care for yourself while experiencing the beauty of Croatia.

A retreat can have a beautiful destination, thoughtful activities, and an incredible itinerary.

But those things alone don't necessarily create a meaningful experience.

For us, thoughtful facilitation starts before you arrive and continues beyond the retreat itself.

It's about preparation.
It's about creating intentional experiences.
It's about making room for different needs and personalities.
It's about being present and knowing when to guide and when to step back.
And it's about giving people space to reflect on what they experienced when they return home.

Because no two people arrive at a retreat with the same story, expectations, or needs.

The goal isn't to create a perfect experience for everyone.

It's to create a thoughtfully held space where each person has room to have their own experience.

That's at the heart of how we approach our retreats at Purple City.

Some lessons stay with us long after the moment that taught them.

I recently revisited this reflection about a significant mistake I made in my business and the decision to share it instead of carrying it quietly.

At the time, telling the truth felt vulnerable. I worried about being judged and wondered whether people would see me differently.

Instead, I was met with kindness, honesty, and support.

It reminded me that shame grows in secrecy, while truth creates room for connection.

We often think vulnerability means exposing our weaknesses. But sometimes, it is simply having the courage to let ourselves be seen as human.

Still learning.

Still figuring things out.

Still making mistakes.

And realizing that we don't have to carry every difficult thing alone.

I'm sharing this reflection again because I think it's a reminder many of us need from time to time:

You don't have to be perfect to be worthy of connection.

Somewhere along the way, an idea became a place.

The yurt started with a vision, a lot of work, and plenty of little details that had to come together. Then slowly, it became a space where people could pause, gather, reflect, reconnect, and experience something different from the pace of everyday life.

Looking back at these photos from the build, it's hard not to appreciate how much can grow from a simple idea when you give it time, care, and intention.

The yurt became an important part of the Purple City story.

And now, as we step into a new chapter, we're carrying everything this space taught us forward.
