Please follow our main page Sierra Nevada Journeys Environmental Education Camp (formerly Grizzly Creek Ranch), is an outdoor science education nonprofit and is located in Portola, CA, just 45 minutes from Reno, NV and 1 hour north of Truckee, CA. The 260-bed environmental education center is 515 acres for learning. A variety of educational camps, leadership retreats and outdoor

school happen nearly year-round. The fully ADA-accessible camp offers modern facilities that are clean and comfortable. We offer a spacious dining hall, patio area with a fire pit, amphitheaters, various activity centers for programming, multiple campfire sites and a spacious lawn for play and learning. A health center is centrally located; all staff are CPR/First Aid certified and have passed federal and state background checks. Sierra Nevada Journeys conducts Overnight Outdoor Learning, summer camp, and a variety of leadership and teambuilding retreats for community groups. Facilities can be rented for your community group and combined with our unique science-based education and social-emotional learning (SEL).

Join Square Root Academy and Sierra Nevada Journeys for STEM and Social Justice Camp at Grizzly Creek Ranch, Portola, California. The camp is free to participants and the fee of $500 per camper is paid for thanks to a grant from the City of Sacramento Youth Development. Must be residents or attend school in Sacramento, CA.

Dates: Friday - Sunday, April 14 - 16, 2023
Cost: FREE for campers, thanks to a grant made
possible from the City of Sacramento Youth Development
For youth ages: 13-to-17 years old
Limited to 100 participants
