We just addded another unit... 2 bat houses with room for over 40 bats!

One bat house was generously gifted to us by a group of Googlers who participated in our Gravel Social event last year. They wanted to get revenge on the mosquitoes. Apparently, in one evening, a bat will eat 1,000 or more bugs.

After reading about how to attract bats to a bat house, we decided to get a 2nd one, so the bats can move between them as the temperatures change throughout the day. Hopefully, this unit will be fully booked this summer with bats!

The annual Lost Sierra Plein Air Festival is this week. Thea visited us again to paint Beckwourth Peak. You can see all of the artists' works at the Sierra Valley Nature Preserve on Saturday.
