Lake Davis Campground This campground is one of the three located on Lake Davis, 7 miles north of Portola, California. This lake was created in 1967 for recreational use.

It’s time to get outside and look for boletes! These mushrooms typically have cushiony caps with undersides full of tiny pores. Exceptions exist (like the gilled bolete whose underside contains gills). Keep in mind that many edible boletes exist. Pictured here are the boletes I like (and the ones I’ve taken good pictures of).

We are thrilled to host Chef Mike Brown at Rugged Roots Farm for our first cooking class of the season!
