Sick of all the BF emails yet?
Yeah… me too.

But this isn’t a sales pitch, this is a call for support.

Tomorrow is Small Business Saturday, and my heart just keeps thinking about the small businesses that pour everything they have into what they do… every single day.

Like so many of us, our livelihood depends on our business. We’ve poured our blood, sweat, tears, savings, late nights, and time away from our families, all in the hopes of creating something meaningful.

So as you’re out shopping this season, I just want to remind you how much your support truly means.

And if you’re not able to purchase, there are so many other ways to help!

If you’ve stayed with us at The Catskills Mountain House, you already know how deeply we value supporting local from our locally made hand soaps, to fresh maple syrup from local farms, to sending our guests to breakfast at The Catskills Mountain Country Store.

4 years ago my husband and I purchased our cabin in the mountains of the Catskills we had been dreaming of for a while. We had been searching high and low for the perfect cabin to call our own, and after several failed attempts we landed in a little town called Prattsville, NY. We had never heard of the town before but as one star after another was drawn in the sky we knew this is where we were meant to be all along. ⁣⁣

Because let’s be honest… nothing starts without that first cup. ☕

Well… for me, it’s usually a cup of mushroom or herbal coffee (if ya know, ya know!). It’s my little morning ritual and just the right way to start the day.

And since today is National Coffee Day, I couldn’t think of a better excuse to celebrate slow mornings.

Here at the cabin, coffee isn’t just about that quick buzz to get your day started… it’s about starting the morning slow, with intention. The kind of morning that just hits different.

Watching the fog roll off the mountains. Breathing in the crisp fall air. Wrapping your hands around a warm mug as your partner wraps their arms around you.

The first day of fall always feels like a deep breath after a busy summer. The mornings are quieter, the air has that crisp little bite, and the trees begin painting the mountains in shades of gold and red.

I love starting the day with coffee or tea in hand, watching the fog slowly lift off the hills as the sunlight streams through the changing leaves. It’s like the whole world is reminding us to slow down and soak it all in.

It feels like a fresh start, not just a new season but a new chapter. A chance to slow down, breathe a little deeper, and soak in the cozy moments that only autumn brings.
