Hey you. Yeah, you anchored over a bedded bass. 😅

I know it’s exciting. I know it makes for great pics. But the science is pretty clear: targeting spawning bass negatively impacts nesting success and recruitment — especially in northern fisheries with shorter growing seasons and lower fish density than southern waters.

This isn’t about shaming anglers. It’s about awareness, stewardship and protecting the resource.

A smallmouth on a bed is one of the most vulnerable moments in that fish’s life cycle. Maybe we don’t need to turn every vulnerable fish into content?

Building the next chapter at Sunrise Resort. 🌲

Two new cabins are currently taking shape on the shoreline in partnership with Woody Building Systems — expanding the resort while preserving the character and lakefront experience we’ve always loved here.

Excited to welcome more families, fishing trips, coffee-on-the-dock mornings, and summer memories soon.
