September 14, 2026 - 9am HST / 12pm PST

As recovery efforts following Hurricane Lowell continue, Makai Club Resort has temporarily suspended resort operations through September 25, 2026.

The resort remains without commercial power, and limitations to water, hot water, communications, housekeeping and other resort services continue. Amenities and restaurants also remain closed. Our teams are actively working on cleanup and recovery so we can safely restore the resort experience you know and love.

We are incredibly grateful to our Associates who have continued to care for the resort. Their dedication, along with the efforts of first responders, utility crews and the broader Kauaʻi community, means so much to us.

Upcoming Reservations:
- If you booked directly with us, our Contact Center has been reaching out to affected Owners and Guests and will continue to do so. If you have questions about your reservation, please contact a Call Center Agent at (877) 344-0688, Monday–Saturday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Pacific Time, to discuss your reservation and available options.
- If you booked through a third-party travel provider or online platform, such as Airbnb or VRBO, please contact the company you booked through directly for assistance with your reservation.

All travelers, including those staying in privately owned units booked through Airbnb, VRBO or another third-party platform, are strongly discouraged from traveling to the resort during this temporary closure. Common-area amenities, restaurants, and normal resort services remain unavailable.

We will continue to evaluate conditions and provide updates as recovery progresses. This closure is temporary, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Makai Club Resort when the time is right.

Mahalo for your patience, understanding and support of our Associates and the community during this recovery. ❤️

For those with plans to travel to Makai Club Resort in the coming weeks, we strongly encourage you to explore your options with a Call Center Agent at (888) 476-9648 before beginning your trip.

Recovery from Hurricane Lowell extends well beyond Makai Club Resort. Currently, there is no confirmed timeline for restoration of commercial power, potable water service remains unavailable, access to food and fuel is significantly limited, and road access into Hanalei is closed due to storm damage. Cell service also remains limited for many users.

We know a trip to Kauaʻi is about much more than your accommodations. It is about experiencing the beaches, restaurants, activities, communities and extraordinary natural beauty of the island. We want you to experience Kauaʻi when the island and Makai Club Resort are better positioned to welcome you.

Conditions are changing quickly, and Makai Club Resort is not the best source for islandwide emergency, road or recovery information. For the latest official updates, please visit:
