Park update: the campground is now open with the electricity on. The water will be turned on May 1st. The lake is still frozen, but cracks are forming. Picture taken 4/14/2023

The campground at Lake Mary is still under a foot of snow. We’ll update this post when we are able to get the campground open. Please call (406) 755-2706 ext. 3 if you have additional questions.

Effective 8/10/22, Lake Mary Ronan State Park is reopened for camping and day use. Contact the park ranger and manager at 406-755-2706 with any questions.

Reservation-holders will be contacted directly with information regarding their camping reservations as more information about the closure becomes available.

Lake Mary Ronan State Park will remain closed until further notice.

The Big Arm Unit of Flathead Lake State Park will open at 10 AM today. All normal services will be open at the park.

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks proposes the construction of a new .3-mile, non-motorized walking trail at Lake Mary Ronan State Park. This trail would connect to existing park trails, creating a loop around the entire park. FWP staff intend for this project to enhance the park experience by providing an opportunity for exercise and wildlife viewing.

Just a few days after the ice was moving up the shoreline, the lake is completely ice free. The dock was pushed in for the season yesterday. Please come try out the extended ramp.

Went out today to check ice conditions. I’ve seen it piled up before on the lakeshore, but today I was able to watch it move. Hoping to have the dock in next week.

Lake Mary Ronan campground opened today for the season. The electricity is on and water will be turned on May 1. The ice is just starting to break up as well. Have fun camping.

The campground is open for the season and the electricity is on. Unfortunately we won’t have the water turned on until May 1st. Have fun camping!!!! 🏕 Sorry, the ice hasn’t let out yet. We are watching it though so we can push the dock in as soon as it does.

Hard water season is around the corner. At the boat launch we have just over an inch of ice. The far North West corner of the lake is still open water. Stay tuned for future ice reports.
