One of Venice’s most famous palaces, the was built on the iconic Grand Canal in the 16th century, when Michelangelo himself is said to have visited to admire its frescos. In 1917 it was acquired by Count Giuseppe Volpi di Misurata, the founder of the Venice International Film Festival, and for whom the Volpi Cup prize for the best actor and actress is still named.

The glamorous Renaissance residence hosted some of the most famous names of the 20th century: Elizabeth Taylor, Cary Grant, Andy Warhol, Coco Chanel, Paul Newman, Harrison Ford, and George Clooney… to name a few.
