Back in 2017 and I camped out on Maui for a couple days to relax and film these humpbacks from shore. Before the days of research and easier access to boats we would use binoculars and try to guess where these animals would surface. It was frustrating but lots of fun. Looking back at old footage to get inspired and keep pushing. Lots of species need our help, not just the ones we see most often!

Happy Hump(back) Day everyone! This AMAZING video came to us from who paddled out with the humpback whales during his stay at Hale Nana Kohola! You can paddle out into the water from the beach just steps away from our home!
The humpback whales come to the warm waters of Hawaii each year between November and May to mate, give birth, and nurture their calves. They are truly gentle giants who can be seen from the shore, on whale watching tours, or up close and personal just like this! It is a truly unique and majestic experience that everyone should get to enjoy!
