linary depth and talent. Though The Putney Inn is tucked in a quiet Vermont enclave, we are proud that our food has been lauded by writers from Boston to Chicago, and from Washington to Miami. Reductions simmer in stock pots for hours, waiting to be combined in interesting, flavorful ways, sometimes bold and vibrant, at other times subtle and understated. And then, there are the times when all you want is a good old-fashioned hamburger, and we’ve got that too.

I have had the joy of hosting guests for decades, and am sorry that we will not be welcoming our friends this summer. At present, the new owners expect to confirm the renovations plans and start remodeling work in the late spring. As soon as the details are confirmed, we will post the information on our web site and send updates on our progress. Thank you so much for remembering us.

The small development group is based in Connecticut, where they have several properties. The Putney Inn will be their first Vermont location, though all of the new owners have been coming to Vermont for decades.

Happy Easter everyone! I hope your new year has been well. I know everyone is anxious to hear news of the Inn. Unfortunately things have not progressed as initially anticipated. I'm waiting on information from Randi Ziter as to the status and when I hear back will let everyone know. Thanks for your continued support.

Some have been wondering as to the status of the Inn's remodel and this is what I know:

Architects are finalizing the drawings and a big meeting will take place Friday after Thanksgiving with the new owners and interior designers. Randi has been down in Alpine, Texas working at the Holland Hotel, one of the historic hotels that they also own.
