Almost two weeks in with our first chickens. Them seem to fit right in and have been an easy addition to the duck flock. Still waiting on our first chicken eggs but thankfully the ducks are laying a little. We still love our ducks and they have been a great fit on our homestead but the chickens are funny.

We’ve been team duck here for many years and many reasons. Tell me, are you team duck or team chicken?

After 7 years of homesteading we’re finally getting chickens!! Can you believe we’ve never had chickens before?!? (Except that one mean rooster who was here for a short time) 3 hens and a rooster arrive tomorrow. If you have any chicken keeping tips, especially if you’ve kept chickens with ducks, drop them in the comments, it would be so appreciated.

Get ready to craft your own winter magic! Join us for a fun afternoon in the woods where we'll create beautiful wreaths with fresh evergreens harvested right here. All supplies (including ribbons, decorations, etc) and guidance are provided, and you'll get to take home your masterpiece. Workshops are on November 22nd and 30th at 12:00PM for $35/person, limited space available. Enjoy our complimentary coffee, tea, cocoa, and cider, or feel free to BYOB.
