Luscious all grass park, located right on the Great Miami River, all sites have water and electric, and all sites sit right on the river bank.

Update:

Good morning! Just want to provide a quick update on how things are at the camp. For the most part, the river is back to normal. It will still recede over the next 5 to 6 days but to the eye, it's back to normal. Things are drying out nicely but we have some things that need cleaned up and a tile that may need to be unplugged. We have some catching up to do on mowing and I'll probably be spraying first of next week. I'll be working through the weekend getting areas cleaned up where logs and different debris have been "relocated" into camp.

We have a couple of food events coming up on back-to-back weekends in september. I've already posted about the brunch on the 19th of September. Please coordinate with Molly if you are going to attend.

Be on the lookout for the next post in a couple of days where I'll be giving details about the annual chicken wing / french fry event. It will be scheduled for September 12th.

Update:

The river receded very, very quickly yesterday and is inside the banks in most spots. I expect complete recession inside banks by days end (Barring some fluke weather incident). Hopefully, we get some decent sunshine today to dry things out. There is definitely clean up to be done, so we'll be focused on that.

River Update:

As I am sure most of you are aware. there was an incredible storm that hammered Logan and Shelby counties yesterday causing flash flooding. Fortunately most campers were already pulled because of last week's rain but the remaining campers were able to be pulled out without damage.

At this point, it certainly seems we have crested at camp and hopefully will begin receding soon. Sidney has been receding since early morning hours. So hopefully, we can get relief quickly. 🤞

Barring any crazy new weather, I will provide updates at the end of each day on progress.

I can't thank those enough who are always there to help. It's amazing what you do to help others out. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. 🙏❤️

8/13 Morning Update:

Good morning. It seems like we still have 24-36 hours of storm waves to get through. From what I can tell, the river hasn't really moved up or down at camp much since late yesterday even though recession has been happening in Sidney guages. It looks like the rain chances today are post dinner time into the overnight hours.

I am out of town for a few days and will be unable to provide updates as to what's happening at camp and surrounding area. So please stay aware of what's happening weather wise to be able to protect your personal property.

8/12 Morning Update:

Good morning! Quite a persistent system that we are under. Unfortunately from what I saw this morning on the Weather Channel we still have a couple more days of these waves to deal with.

In looking at the rain gauge just a little bit ago we have received an additional .6" here at Camp since my last report. We were fortunate in that we did not get what Eastern Indiana got overnight. It's still steadily raining here and it seems like the river has come up in additional four to five inches since yesterday late afternoon.

As always, please stay aware of the weather here in Logan County to make decisions regarding your personal property on your lot. Crossing my fingers that we somehow get another long break to get as much down river as we possibly can. Cheers to dryer times.

Afternoon Update:

Since this morning's heavy downpour, we've only really had some rain and light showers. I would say that the river has come up five or six inches the entire day but it does seem like the rise rate has picked up a little bit. The latest extended radar runs look favorable in that maybe we're going to get a decent break so we'll keep our fingers crossed for that. Right now we have some room before it were to start breaching the banks. Cheers to fingers crossed and drinks to make you sleep. 🤞😉 🍻

Morning Update:

This morning's rain total was 1.1". To say I'm concerned would be an understatement.

So here's what I see at camp this morning. According to the rain gauge, we totaled .7 inches at camp but the surrounding area took a pretty good hit. The river is definitely up and dirty. About a foot I would guess? The forecast over the next 2 to 3 days doesn't look very kind... so please stay aware to take care of your belongings.
