RACINE MOOSE RIDERS MEETING, JULY 12, 2020

Board Members present: John Springsteen, Kevin Parco, Deb Johnson, Barb Hawkins, Mike Hawkins and Al Evans.

Our monthly meeting started as scheduled at 11:15 a.m. and was quickly done at 11:30 a. m.
Last month we had 2 riders from March who signed up; Scott Linden and Kevin Murphy and then 2 more that signed up after the ride; Jamie Steensen and Paul Gorecki. (bartender). And just today John got Wendy Able and Tom Tommerup. Also, there are two new lodge members who may join the RIDERS soon.
We will have 3 stops today leaving at noon. Wild Child, Dirty Hoe and Joey's West.
Happy Birthday LEEANN! Leeann will follow the RIDERS in a car along with Wendy and Dana, Amy
Myles finally gets to see his mom today after approx. 56 days due to COVID-19 restrictions on vistors in Nursing Homes. It's good to know that mom is doing well.
We donated $500 toward our bands last night. Volunteers did a great job! In 2 weeks we have another band called “Dirty Boogie" who have played at Summerfest. Poster reminders are hanging in bathrooms. More pudding shots and 50/50 raffles will be available. Motion made to use $170 of our money towards cups, lids etc. and it was approved. Volunteers are always appreciated. One 50/50 tickets are still out there and uncollected and will be held onto for a week. The evening was pure success for the lodge.
Any suggestions for rides and stops should be directed to Al or Kevin. Please remember to ride responsibly.
Short meeting today adjourned at 11:30 a.m. Thanks everyone and have fun.

3/8/20 Moose Riders Meeting:
Hi, all –

Included are the meeting minutes from the March 8th meeting held at 12:00pm.

Board members present: Deb Vasey-Johnson, Al Evans (Myles – Filling in for John Springsteen / Val filling in for Barb Cook Hawkins)

Myles reviewed various topics from the February meeting minutes.

Barb Cook Hawkins is out recovering from her fall. We wish you a speedy recovery Barb. Hang in there….we are all thinking of you!

This was our last Sunday breakfast as riding season begins in April. We served around 55 people. Thanks to all the volunteers that helped out at breakfast. The lodge is always looking for volunteers for their breakfasts as well. See volunteer board under the TV to sign-up to help the lodge breakfasts.

Myles and Dana led the Dollar Game which followed our meeting.

*Old Business

The veteran bricks were delayed at Veterans Services. Myles is waiting for a response and will update. The plan is to wait until the first ride in Spring to have the ceremony at the park.

The Winter Chili Cookoff was a success. A lot of great chili was enjoyed by all. Thanks to all who volunteered, contributed their chili and donated raffle baskets.

*New Business

A big welcome to our new Moose Rider members, Scott Linden & Kevin Murphy!

The first ride in April will be held the 3rd Sunday as Easter is the 2nd Sunday this year. The ride will include stopping at Pritchard Veterans Park as we still need to dedicate the veteran bricks from last year.

The date for the Bike Blessing was discussed. With the International Bike Blessing being held May 16th, Mothers Day is May 10th and the Road Runner Blessing is May 3rd, all agreed we should shoot for May 17th. We will try to secure the same person we had last year to preform the blessing. Deb will check on this.

It was brought up we would begin thinking about some community service/donations as we have the funds in our account. Veterans Outreach was mentioned is near and dear to many and always need assistance and funding. Everyone, be sure to share your thoughts and ideas. All are welcome!!

Al Evans, our new Road Captain, mentioned he is looking into some different ideas for rides. Be sure to let Al know if there is somewhere specific you would like to adventure to.

It was suggested we incorporate a few Saturday rides as well. Possibly designating specific Saturdays ahead of time for planning purposes.

Many fun events coming up. Be sure to watch the bulletin boards, Moose website, Facebook and your newsletter for dates/details. Please continue to support events at your lodge.

Meeting adjourned at 12:30pm.
Thanks and make it a great day!
Val M.(filling in for Barb)

BLACK AND CHROME PARTY this Saturday:
So during the meeting on Sunday we determined we agreed to 6 PM on Saturday don’t be afraid to come late as we will probably be going all night. As in the past we will have our gift exchange and everyone agreed to $25 limit please mark your gift if they are Male or Female or Both. I figure we can do the exchange around 8 PM just in case people are running late.

Also, I reached out to Val and Tom and they are bring the turntable so dust off those old vinyl records and bring them in.

Signup sheet for side food/ snacks on the board. I saw a handful of people sign up and I will let everyone know what we have already as the week goes on. We will have Ham and Turkey with Buns.
